Amy Darling & Michael Paget: Rebels Without Causes.
This interviewer/photographer duo thrives off of free beer, guest lists and scooters. Last year they went to Rifflandia Music Festival in Victoria, BC, reporting for New Canadian Modern. It was all a little hazy when they returned to Calgary, relaying all of the details of their adventures to Kait, the contributing editor of NCM. Their best friend is a spoiled hairless cat named AIDS who has a constantly changing wardrobe. Check out AIDS’ tweets here: AidstheCat.

Barbara Bruederlin is trying to single-handedly save the arts community in Canada. As a Calgary freelance writer and a regular contributor to BC Musician Magazine and the late great Kitschykoo! Subcultural Lifestyle Magazine, she writes extensively about music, theatre, and the struggles of the arts community. Her reviews are regularly linked on the press pages of the Calgary Folk Music Festival and Sage Theatre. Barbara also maintains an insanely popular blog, Bad Tempered Zombie, where she regularly promotes emerging Canadian musicians and pens arts reviews, as well as whatever drivel falls out of her head. Barbara has also published articles in Gonzo, Swerve, and Prairie Fire, as well as one spectacularly bad poem in Alberta Views.
Adam Kamis is THE man! This hunky dude co-fronts the rocknroll country-fried act, The Brenda Vaqueros, hosts the bi-monthly CJSW radio show, THE FAILED pilot, while at the same time holding stakes to the title of dreamiest bartender in Calgary. Whew, that’s a lot for one guy to handle. Did I mention he also travels every year to the raunchiest rock festival in the Wild West, GONERFEST in Memphis, Tennessee!!! He also goes to SXSW in Austin Texas. All around, this guy knows his music and knows what he’s talking about. Tune into The Failed Pilot every other Thursday at 12-2pm MST.

Founder and contributing editor of New Canadian Modern, Kait Kucy enjoys bubblegum, polaroids, and Hello Kitty Pajamas. When she is not busy thinking up new ways to fund her art collecting obsession, she can be found attending local rock shows, usually at the front because she is short and slightly deaf.
Kait spent the last three years putting out the glossy and then the not-so-glossy Kitschykoo! Subcultural Lifestyle Magazine. The zine, now put on a shelf until the economy turns around featured Calgarian artists, musicians, and designers. Kait’s short term goals include self-publishing her book Offbeat about underground artists in Calgary and doing some travelling.
Allison Moore is a die hard Betsey Johnson addict and would wear a crinoline filled Betsey dress everyday if she could. A felt hat collector. A vintage fur collar coat connoisseur. Prefers to wear feathers in her hair but also has a feather boa collection. Looks at the photo spreads in Vogue, Elle, Flare and W monthly and aspires to one day read the articles as well. Is currently dreaming of the entire Forever 21 twelve by twelve fall 2009 collection.
